Task 1

Pupils act as a final judge for a competition that has invited creative responses to The Whitsun Weddings by Philip Larkin. They write an article for a magazine introducing the poem, giving a commentary on it and then explaining the choice of winning entry.

Task 2

Pupils are asked to write a newspaper article of no more than 1000 words after reading the newspaper articles provided about the conjoined twins. They have to be able to gather the information and present their analysis and views expressing complex issues in a formal style with care and sensitivity.
