Science

The science department uses two main strategies to extend the most able pupils.

• Extension materials are an itegral part of the 21st Century Science course that it runs. The booklets have extension activities for all lessons.


• Triple Sceince.

Triple Science

The Triple Sceince course is offered to all pupils who achieve at least a level 6 in their end of Key Stage 3 assessment.

The course runs along side the regular Core and Additional units taught in science lessons but as a self study element. Pupils attend one morning lesson per month where the relevant information for each task is given.

Pupils then complete the task over the coming month. One of the Science teachers will be assigned as a tutor for pupils can go to for help and who will be responsible for marking their work.

Pupils who complete the Triple Science course will be awarded a Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSE in addition to the Core and Additional GCSE's, a total of 5 GCSE's.
